Q1

What is the fundamental mode of operation of asynchronous sequential circuit? If there are more than one input to such a circuit what constrain is imposed on them?

  1. Fundamental mode of operation of an asynchronous ckt is a mode in which input changes only when the circuit is in stable state

  2. Asynchronous ones operate at time events defined by changes of inputs.Fundamental mode asynchronous sequential circuits operate according to voltage levels of inputs.
Fundamental Mode Sequential Circuits have to respond to the input as soon as the input is available. These circuits do not have the luxury to wait for the clock pulse to arrive as in the
clocked circuits where the inputs are presented to the machine at the time of the clock pulse.

  3. In a fundamental mode circuit, all of the input signals are considered to be levels. Fundamental mode operation assumes that the input signals will be changed only when the circuit is in a stable state and that only one variable can change at a given time.
